    About Me:

I am a transplant from the midwest. I came to NYC after college and probably will be a lifer. I have always been a coffee fanatic going back to my early twenties when I started using a Chemex every day to prepare my coffee. Roasting and honing my home barista skills have been a consuming passion the last 5 or 6 years and with all the equipment I started gathering I realized I needed to turn this into a business and make it a career!

    About My Company:

Plowshare's mission is deeply rooted in the spirit of social responsibility and strives to create a sustainable and transparent business model. To the coffee farmers and producers we feel a deep responsibility not only in compensating them fairly for the fruits of their labor, but also a responsibility to help their crops reach the fullest potential in terms of quality at our end of the global value chain. To our customers we have the responsibility of sharing our business practices so our patrons know the coffee they purchase is not only ethically sourced, but also grown and processed using good land stewardship principles. Our customers should also know that Plowshares is continuously searching for ways to reduce our own carbon footprint through diligent recycling, investing in alternative energy and reforestation projects through our partnership with the CarbonFund and utilizing 100% wind power to power our roastery. Plowshares has been a carbon nuetral business from it's inception.

What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?

    The people and the coffee!
