About Me:
I grew up outside D.C., and am now living and brewing the bean outside of Pittsburgh, where the scene is rapidly developing. My hubs and I are quite young, and besides parenting our toddler and lab mix in our above-the-shop dwelling, we are committed to hospitality and to impacting our economically depressed neighborhood and our world.
About My Company:
Beaver Falls Coffee & Tea (& Roasting Works) is located across the street from Geneva College in a post-industrial, struggling steel town. We strive to provide the environment that customers can use as their "third place", centered around community and excellent coffee. We roast our own, pull each shot with care and precision, and (try to) pour latte art every time. We also bake/prepare/cook all our food (sandwiches, soups, baked goods, snacks) and have developed a sustainability plan that we are in the process of implementing and teaching our customers about.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
The creativity involved and the ability of coffee to stimulate conversation and comraderie.
