About Me:
Since 1976 Bio Willy has been doing all things ecofriendly and awesome. In 2005, he started one of the first local biodiesel refineries and co-ops out of his own garage. Over the years he has transformed tens of thousands of gallons of used vegetable oil into biodiesel providing a renewable fuel source for dozens of Seattleites. A pioneer of sustainable and innovative building practices, Bio Willy has designed homes incorporating passive heating and cooling designs, solar and green house technologies, and phase changing salts. Continuing his commitment to locally based enterprise, Bio Willy set out to provide Seattleites with another clean, green, and tasty life style option. Seeking out importers who have close relationships with organic micro-lot farmers, Bio Willy aims to produce the best possible product while having the smallest possible impact on the environment. Importers are Fair Trade and Farm Gate certified meaning farmers are paid directly, “at the farm’s gate,” with out any import or export fees. The goal is to have the greatest benefit to go the farmers, the individuals who do the most work in providing us with the high quality coffee beans we then roast to perfection. As Biowilly says, “When these things are accomplished, the coffee just tastes better.” Bio Willy continues to make his own biodiesel and all BIOWILLY’S facilities and delivery vehicles run on this renewable energy source.
