Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
I have about 5 years professional coffee experience. Right now, as it stands, I am not working in a coffee shop, but I am roasting at home and messing around with my Alex Duetto II and Mazzer Super Jolly. I have been working on brewing the perfect cup of coffee lately. I try and measure all of my extraction rates. Also, I have been working on my latte art, specifically my tulips.
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
Within the US, I would love to travel to Chicago, New York,San Francisco, and Seattle for both their coffee and their culture. Outside the US, I would like to go to Guatemala,Kenya, and Jamaica to check out the coffee. Dry processed Ethiopian coffee is typically my favorite, but I am not so sure that Ethiopia is a place I would like to visit. I would be down to possibly travel to the Ivory Coast for coffee as well, but I lived in West Africa for a year already, so I think that I would like to switch it up before I returned back. For the most part though, I just love to travel and meet new people, so I am down for almost anywhere and hope to have experienced many country's cultures and coffees firsthand by the time I am old.
About Me:
I am chill guy through and through. I am passionate and often obsessive with coffee. I just started roasting at home. I also just got a descent home machine. I plan to open an amazing shop one day and often spend my spare time mapping out the details. I am definitely a dreamer, but I try and work hard to balance things out and bring my dreams into fruition. There is less than a handful of good coffee shops in my town, which means it is incredibly hard to get hired on with one, but I am trying. Meanwhile, I roast at home and mess around on my Alex Duetto II, in hopes of someday making it in the coffee industry, which is my passion!
About My Company:
I am in the process of starting up a specialty coffee catering business. The Name: Five Star Coffee and Tea. I hope to own my own coffee house the next 5 years.
