If you are a barista or shop, are you interested in a barista exchange with another coffee shop/barista?

    yes

Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.

i own a small cafe on the waterfront in Port Vila, Vanuatu: Its a small country of 240,000 Melanesian people just off the coast of Australia. We are the busiest cafe in town, with a great view over the water and one of the best coffees in town. There is a local barista competition that tries to bring up the skills of our local baristas but we are still a long way away from producing coffees to match the western world - so we are always looking for help.

What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?

One of my staff one the first Vanuatu Barista competition and was awarded a trip to Australia. It was a fantastic experience for her. Normally she sleeps on a mat on a concrete floor in a local hut and she won 3 nights at the Sheraton Darling Harbour. She was so scared I had to have some friends chaperon her otherwise she wouldn't go. Just a pity, she never got the chance to work in a real cafe and see what coffee making is really about.

    About Me:

I was an ex-volunteer in business IT who saw an opportunity to set up a cafe on the water. After borrowing, begging and stealing from my friends and family I started up with nothing (just a coffee machine, microwave, display fridge and a cash register. I was sleeping on the floor and doing it tough. Its been an adventure thats for sure!

    About My Company:

Nambawan Cafe runs a juice bar, pizzeria, a hotspot and runs moonlight movies 3 times a week. not having copyright laws, I pirate and play anything I like.

What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?

    taste testing...
