What is your position in the coffee industry?

    barista, coffee enthusiast

Where are you located? ( City and Country )

    Astoria, Or

How many years have you been in the industry?

    5

If you are a barista or shop, are you interested in a barista exchange with another coffee shop/barista?

    maybe

What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?

I've seen a fair amount of the U.S., mostly on road trips, and have 7 states in the U.S. left to visit. I'll be headed to Costa Rica in March (2011) and hopefully Chile or Argentina later this year or early next year. I'm interested in traveling, period. With the exception of countries where I'm in immediate danger of bodily harm (cause I'm weird that way) there isn't really anywhere I'm wouldn't be interested in visiting/living.

    About Me:

I'm currently living in Oregon though I've travel pretty extensively throughout the U.S. When I'm not behind the bar or getting some schooling online about one of my interests then I'm usually wander around with a camera in hand, or doing something related to photography, whether it's time in the darkroom, gallery visits or studying up on some aspect of the art. While I have about 16 years experience working with food and coffee, I also have an insatiable desire to learn more. I'm willing to listen if you want to share, just don't be hurt if I don't unquestioningly buy in wholesale to the knowledge you're breaking off. Nice to be part of the group.

What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?

I have to pick one? I guess one of my favorite things is that our industry's pervasiveness and due to that is a point of commonality amongst many cultures, you can sit with a stranger regardless of background to just appreciate good coffee. But picking one thing, that's tough.
