What is your position in the coffee industry?

    coffee enthusiast

Where are you located? ( City and Country )

    San Francisco

How many years have you been in the industry?

    two

    About Me:

I'm 48, I discovered 'the magic bean' in high school & thought that Chockfull-O-Nuts was the antidote to the 'paint thinner' that was served in the Bunn coffee urn @ school. It wasn't until I was 19, broke and homeless in Berkeley, CA that I was urged to try the espresso at the cafe across the street by the guy that was attempting to rob me- at knife point, that I had my first espresso shot. Upon hearing my tale of woe, my would-be assailant gave me $2 and made his recommendation. It was a Life Altering moment and coffee was at the center of the experience. That shot of coffee was somewhat profound for me. Since that morning I have been pursuing 'the ultimate' coffee experience. It is my hope/Dream to furnish that 'Ultimate Coffee Experience- UCE' to my fellow humans. -Weather they're looking for a UCE or not. I am currently a licensed contractor in San Francisco and approaching the age when I told myself that I would transition into the coffee shop business of my dreams. I don't see myself doing what I do now into my 60's, but I do see myself behind a La Marzocco (hopefully) well into my seventies. Its all about QUALITY, esthetics & Atmosphere for me.

    About My Company:

High quality craftsmanship and working with clients to create the esthetic[s] and atmosphere that they desire. And helping them to articulate it even if they have yet to put it into words themselves. The process of discovery seems to define my business.

What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?

Coffee. And the fact that it has a more complex flavor profile that wine.
