Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
I am an Army Veteran and after my service was looking for a job. I started PT as Barista/Manager of my church's hospitality coffeebar on a superautomatic Verismo. After a time the church offered it to me as my own business, I ran that for 9 years. In the meantime, I consulted with several other churches to start their own coffee bars, as well, I worked as a General Manager and consultant to a startup brick and mortar coffeeshop here in Denver. Last May, 2017, I moved locations to my own brick and mortar in SW Denver, Java on the Creek, where we are hustling and bustling! We partnered with a local roaster, MORU Coffee, and just attended Coffee Fest Denver, 2018. We look to continually learn in the industry and I want to become a certified Barista and Trainer. I need to work on my Latte art. We just added ice cream to our shop and offer affogatos!
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
I wish to return to Germany, Heidelberg specifically, as I was stationed there while in the Army. I would like to travel all over Europe and I would love to go to South America to tour some of the coffee plantations that our roaster sources from.
About Me:
I am an adopted child and the youngest of my siblings, I have 2 older sisters. I recently found my birth mom and half-sister and we have been communicating in hopes of meeting sometime this year.
About My Company:
Java on the Creek is a Veteran owned, Sole Proprietorship operated in SW Denver in the neighborhood I grew up in. We offer a Signature menu of Coffees, Smoothies, Italian Sodas. Our food menu right now is limited to premade breakfast burritos from a local vendor and pastries from a local commercial bakery. We now offer ice cream brought in from another local vendor in Denver. We look to source, procure, use and promote local small business and products and support our community resources and neighbors.
