Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
I worked for 1 1/2 years in a coffee house as a barista/baker. I received training from the Madison,WI based roaster, Ancora. I am now opening my own coffee house/cafe.
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
Any and all.
About Me:
I am an artist and currently work as a baker in a local Southwestern style restaurant. For over 15 years I was part of a cooperative art gallery. My work there included curating exhibitions, organizing art receptions and fund-raising events, and general gallery maintenance. I am now re-opening the gallery as a cafe/coffee house.
About My Company:
Omphale Gallery & Cafe has a projected opening date of May/June 2011. My business partner and I are currently researching roasters, distributors, restaurant equipment, etc. and jumping through the many hoops of establishing a food service venue. Our cafe space is located in an historic building (1894) which is now being spruced up and reoriented into much more than a gallery.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
I enjoy the networking of community that exists within the classic coffee house atmosphere.
