About Me:
Grew up in Pensacola, FL. Went to college for a while, got a job i hated, decided it was time for a change and started traveling. Went to Memphis, TN. things got sour there, now i live in Tulsa, OK. I was a barista during college on and off, and in Memphis, but focused more on fine dining and trying to be a wine sommelier. Then i realized that chef's/ restaurant owners are greedy, ego-driven primadonnas. So i went back to my first love, and here i shall stay. Other than that, music is pretty much my main reason for living. I play a few instruments, dj, produce, de-construct, remix and reconstruct music. I've gotten into animation pretty hardcore lately. I hate a lot of things. I love few things very intensely. I see ridiculous humor in most situations. My mind is a constant sketch-comedy. People don't laugh enough. It's kind of a bummercloud, so i try and help them out. I just transitioned to a new city. It's been weird, but i got lucky and landed a job at an amazing coffee shop with some rad people. but yeah, that's about it. oh... i will annihilate you at Mortal Kombat.
About My Company:
I work for a company called Topeca Coffee. We are the only seed-to-cup operation in the US. Our plantation is in El Salvador on the side of a volcano and has been in the owners family since the mid 1800's. We are a single origin, direct trade company. The coffee we yield is of ridiculously superb quality. We have about four blends right now that we distribute, but the growers and roasters are working on tons of new blends and flavors. It's an exciting time around the shop/roastery. We have a roastery here in Tulsa and a Cafe where we serve our awesome coffee blends, espresso, french press, loose leaf teas, etc...
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
Without question, my favorite thing about it is, the ability to meet new people and create dialouges/freidnships over something that seems to have become so common place.
