Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
I work as a Barista at Alterra in Milwaukee. I've been here for about 3 years. I'm a fairly proficient barista but, although I work the bar most of the time I enjoy making drip coffee with my pour over more than making espresso. Our company has weekly staff cuppings that I attend regularly as well as, what we call, "lightning rod" meetings where a few of get together and discuss ways to make ourselves better at what we do. All in all, I'd say that I know a bit about coffee, but I definitely want to learn more.
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
I would like to explore any country that I can.
About Me:
Like a lot of people in this industry, my passion for coffee has caused me, much to the dismay of my wallet, to be critical of what I drink. But I also enjoy being educated on what I taste as well. As far as my plans in the industry, my goal is to be a roaster, hands down. I wouldn't mind being a coffee buyer some day, either.
About My Company:
It's a great place with room to grow and they do good things.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
It's progression. I am happy to see the mentality of coffee grow towards a more wine-like status, even if it is a slow going process.
