Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
Our shop is located in Benzie County in Northern Michigan, overlooking Betsie Bay which leads to Lake Michigan. We are in a summer resort town community. Our shop is an eclectic cafe- we serve coffee and light lunch fare, rent bikes and kayaks, have a wine cellar/beer enthusiast area, and showcase local products. We can offer an adventure of a lifetime in one of the most beautiful areas in Michigan.
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
Anywhere...my husband and I LOVE to travel.
About Me:
I am currently a middle schools media specialist/librarian in my 19th year of teaching. I love my job, but I aspired to be a chef when I first graduated from high school. I have been a professional baker and I love being around people, plus I love a good cup of coffee. I saw the coffee industry as a way to use my skills. The Conundrum Cafe is my "summer/retirement" career.
About My Company:
Conundrum Cafe came into being when my husband and I spied a building for sale in our favorite town in Northern Michigan. We decided to buy the 120 year old building,"fix-it-up" and start a bike and kayak rental business. After the initial purchase, we decided that the cafe was a perfect addition to the business. The name comes from the fact that the building has been many things throught out its history -general store, watch shop, barber shop, restaurant, pizza parlour, sport shop and flooring business. It truly was a "conundrum".
