Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
I have a degree in Communications, so I find my eyes are quick to study all aspects of the business/shop first, then the beans and coffee methods. On the bar where I work we serve two great espressos from two different roasters in Vancouver. The kitchen makes whatever sandwiches and soups they choose. No set menu, aside from the key snacks always on hand. I've spent more years curious about coffee than actually working with it hands on in a coffee shop. Currently just improving my skills and knowledge.
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
My list is long, but South Africa, Rwanda and Italy and England are the big four. Two for the behind the bean scene and two for the cultural caffe side of things. I'd also go back to Australia any day, to have the best homemade chai and pear banana bread I've ever tasted.
About Me:
I speak Spanish, love the strong caramel and nuttiness in beans, and a mean macchiato. One day I hope to run my own coffee house. However, right now I'm more interested in a sales and marketing internship within the industry.
About My Company:
We're locally owned by a great family, Caffe Motivo. They've sent a few baristas to the Western finals over the years and in general just love putting out great drinks, 5 star desserts, and service for the community.
