What is your position in the coffee industry?

    barista, coffee enthusiast

Where are you located? ( City and Country )

    Washington D.C.

How many years have you been in the industry?

    2

If you are a barista or shop, are you interested in a barista exchange with another coffee shop/barista?

    yes

Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.

I've had a position as a barista at 5 shops. Most notably MidCtiy Caffe, Cassat's, and currently Filter Coffeehouse and EspressoBar. I really love preparing quality espresso and coffee for enthusiasts and beginner coffee drinkers alike. I have participated in many Thursday Night THrowdowns in D.C. and recently took first place at one of the competitions.

What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?

Portland, Seattle, San Fransisco, Brooklyn, Manhattan, Atlanta, Spain, Sweden, Italy, Australia, New Zealand, England, France,

    About Me:

When i'm not making coffee, extracting espresso, or steaming some nice glassy farm fresh milk, I enjoy having a relaxing time conversing with a few good friends, listening to music, and making music.

    About My Company:

I don't own the shop i work at, but Filter Coffeehouse is an independent shop that opened two and half months ago with the goal of preparing coffee with love and care. Our beans are supplied by Cafe Pronto, Annapolis Maryland. Currently we have 6 varietals to choose from, all peak roasted to bring out the best flavors of each bean. It's a small spot, with 5 tables and a stand up bar area, to discourage swarms of people from posting up and taking valuable seating all day. Our store is on 20th street northwest D.C. I consider this one of the nicest and quietest streets in the dupont area even though we're only half a block away from connecticut ave., the main strip going through dupont. we have about 7 employees

What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?

educating people that are not in the industry and sparking their interest in making a killer cup of coffee and supporting major coffee growing nations that have limited exports.
