Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
I've worked as a production roaster for nearly three years. Prior to that, I worked full-time as barista for 3-4 years at the same company.
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
The west coast intrigues me. I've only spent little time in California. San Francisco is remarkably exciting. I love Seattle, as well. I grew up in New York, and have watched my home state grow-up tremendously in terms of coffee culture. I'd love to spend more time back home, and experience the rebirth of coffee in places like Brooklyn & Manhattan.
About Me:
I'm originally from NY, and have lived in Vermont for nearly six years. I moved to VT to study Education, and recently graduated with a M.Ed in curriculum design. Coffee happened to me by accident. It was a means to pay the bills while in grad school. I'm now a production roaster at the small cafe & wholesale company where I began as a barista. I've learned so much - and am hopelessly attracted to the romanticism of this culture, and the people who live for it.
About My Company:
I roast coffe for Uncommon Grounds Coffee & Tea in Burlington, VT. We're a local micro-roaster, cafe & wholesale company offering a rotating selection of single-origin coffees, locally-baked treats and fantastic tea.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
Roasting, grinding, brewing, pulling, breaking, slurping, spitting...repeat.
