Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
Our shop is predominantly a factory outlet with a small cafe front. We have a SASA Samiac roaster that is not currently being used. All our coffee is organic and grown sustainably on our own farm in Northern Thailand.
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
Mexico, Costa Rica, Venezuela, Vietnam, Laos, Columbia, Brazil.
About Me:
I'm a young entrepreneur who was given the opportunity to co-manage a budding coffee company on Vancouver Island. I was lucky enough to spend almost ten years in Thailand developing our farm before returning to work on sales.
About My Company:
Gulf Island Roasting Co. sells only organic arabica. A large majority of our coffee comes from our farm in Northern Thailand, with some being sourced from Chiapas, Mexico. At our farm every possible measure is taken to ensure that our coffee is grown in a sustainable, socially positive manner. We are bird and bee friendly.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
The level of specialization it enjoys. Experimentation is everything.
