What is your position in the coffee industry?

    barista, manager, barista trainer

Where are you located? ( City and Country )

    Seattle USA

How many years have you been in the industry?

    6 months

If you are a barista or shop, are you interested in a barista exchange with another coffee shop/barista?

    yes

Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.

I began as a full-time barista at the Front Porch Cafe in Kill Devil Hills, NC after graduating from college in Vermont. I learned the art and nuances of making coffee on a manual espresso machine and knew that I had found my niche. As a people person, I felt that every person I encountered was always a positive experience, whether they were visiting the area for a weekend or long-time, devoted locals. About three months after I started as a barista, I was asked to become store manager and had the wonderful opportunity to be a barista, while also learning the fine tunings of what it means to manage a coffee shop with a hard-working staff. Being a manager was a wonderful experience that soon prompted me to come back to my Seattle roots and seek out a barista position within a local coffee shop. I love the fact that I have experience in working on a manual espresso machine, as I feel the quality of the coffee is noticeably higher and gives me the opportunity to seek out a barista position within a community of coffee shops that give the city of Seattle its character, life, and great coffee!

What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?

Although I would like to seek out a barista position within the greater Seattle area, I would not mind traveling if it would mean improving my barista skills and/or knowledge of coffees.

    About Me:

As a recent college graduate, I have had many opportunities to learn more things about myself; I feel every life experience is invaluable and serves as some stepping stone for the next opportunities life has to offer. I have a variety of hobbies that range from knitting or reading a good book to snowshoeing, snowboarding or fly-fishing. The rain never stops me from going outside and I can adapt to many different environments. I love to try new foods, listen to different music and ride into the city to see what is going on. I believe friends and conversations over coffee never fail to add value to our lives.

What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?

Learning the art and nuances of making coffee, and the different people I meet.
