Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
Starting with a bagel shop in 2001, built a small chain of specialty coffee/bakeries. Added coffee roasting in 2003. Sold the business in 2006, and went back to my (less interesting) original profession (investment banking).
About Me:
Met GREAT people in the business, and really miss the shops and the roasting. Just trying to re-connect with the industry a bit in a non-commercial way.
About My Company:
We built 3 successful local brands, and got particularly good at "alternative" sites and partnerships -- a minor league baseball stadium (became their biggest vendor), a submarine base (coffee fanatics!), a local arts council (where we combined a gallery and a coffeehouse with great success).
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
Unquestionably, the people. Learned the business from very helpful competitors
