About Me:
Came to Thailand 5 years ago and began growing coffee with athai man and his two sons.He is retired from Dep't of Agriculture where he taught Thais and Hill tribe people how to grow coffee in the mountain villages. We selected some land in and on the edge of a forest. We were the first licenced and certified organic coffee farm in Thailand. We bought our first seedlings from the coffee Dep't of Chiangmai University and subsequently germinated our own from seed and created our own nusery.
About My Company:
We are a Thai registered limited company consisting of three families and we operate our coffee farm at 880-1000 metres above sea level. We grow only arabica coffee but also grow cacao macnuts and some fruit as well. They are young small trees and 2-4 years short of harvest. The coffee however will give us our first crop this year and are presently in the beginning stages of building a small factory to process. We planted 137,500 trees but only those from the first year will cherry up this year.We have 15 salaried full time villagers working(and some living)on the farm and will hire as needed for harvest. The only other crop in our area is tea which they pick for others.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
Better people than any other work i've ever done.
