    Novato, CA

    1

If you are a barista or shop, are you interested in a barista exchange with another coffee shop/barista?

    yes

Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.

I am a wholesaler and don't have a retail shop. We specialize in roasting the best micro lot single origin varietals and awesome proprietary blends.

What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?

I'm in the Bay Area but moving soon to Nashville, Tenn., and hope to open a wholesale operation there.

    About Me:

Like everyone else here, I'm a coffee fanatic, seeking out only the best green for roasting. I tend to favor lighter roasts and bringing out varietal flavors. One of my favorite anecdotes that shows how subjective this business is, dates back to a coffee tasting that I attended at Ritual Coffee in San Francisco. Attending, aside from me, were Paul Guyabo - the head roaster from Peet's, the green buyer from Ritual, the head of sales for Equator Coffee in Marin County, I believe James Freeman was there from Blue Bottle, and a few other notable cuppers. We were cupping 4 or 5 coffees from El Salvador. What was amazing to me is that NO ONE agreed on which coffee was the stand out and which coffee fell flat. After serious concentration and note taking all the participants were easily cajoled into pontificating about why their favorite was the best. BUT THERE WAS NO CONSENSUS! It was at that moment that I realized there was room for another entrant into this rarified realm of coffee roasting fanatics and that my personal tastes would often lead me in another direction from these esteemed roasters. Viva la difference!

What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?

The passion that everyone brings to the table.
