yes
Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
I run a small coffeehouse in Sheridan, Oregon. I'm afraid I don't have much in the way of barista skills. I run a nice little shop, and my shots are ever-increasing in quality. But the rosetta seems utterly out of my reach. I've had plenty of one-offs and slop-shots, but a consistent, delicious little latte-leaf.... I don't know how you guys do it. practice practice.
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
My wife and I are actually quite interested in living in some of the coffee growing regions of Africa and the south pacific. I live about an hour and a half outside Portland, Oregon and love that city.
About Me:
My greatest challenge in a small community is respectfully steering people toward more classic concepts of coffee, as an artistic experience, a part of something larger, somehow tasting the bean with a holistic feel for the farmer and his rugged soil, the international trade, beans floating about on a journey, the artisan crafting that happens both at the level of roast and extraction.... My greatest challenge is not judging too harshly a public who has been taught to love 24oz white chocolate raspberry mochas for breakfast.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
it feels nice.
