Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.

My passion for coffee far predates my birth into barista-hood. I've been an avid drinker of the stuff as long as I can remember. For the last two years, however, I've made my living at a local company called Boston Stoker (Dayton, OH) where my skills have grown to what I consider a note-worthy level. I am the manager of the store at which I started (having moved back from managing a different location) and love almost every minute of it. I'm more than competent when it comes to recipe-based drinks, but excel when given the opportunity to create. I love new and interesting combinations of flavors, techniques and beans and find myself toying with them regularly. I'm eager to enhance all of my skills, but namely I'd like to fine-tune my latte art and of course, continue on the endless quest for coffee knowledge.

What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?

Portland, Prague, Amsterdam (for the coffee, of course), Australia, London, Tokyo, LA, Costa Rica, the list goes on...

About Me:

Essentially, I'm no different than the vast majority of twenty year olds: I haven't got a clue. Awash in confusion about my aspirations, I've spent the last year bouncing from one course-of-study to another trying to get my education underneath me. Currently a student of Creative Writing, I've get absolutely no idea where to go with my major. Mark my name with the rest of them, I s'pose, but I've plenty of time to figure it all out... Until then, I'd better get my Rosetta down. :-D

Boston Stoker is a local coffee roaster/retailer in Dayton, OH. We buy all green beans and roast them ourselves right here in town, no more than half an hour from each of our nine stores. We also specialize in gourmet teas and sell fine cigars, pipe tobacco and accessories. www.bostonstoker.com
