Atlanta, GA
How many years have you been in the industry?
6
If you are a barista or shop, are you interested in a barista exchange with another coffee shop/barista?
yes
Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.
I have worked in 5 different coffee shops around Georgia for the past 6 years and sold coffees and teas from regions all over the world. I am involved with a few private vendors who work with experimental strains of teas and coffee beans. I have recently been working closely with a new ethnabotanical tea company, Misty Mountain Herbals (www.MistyMountainHerbals.com).
What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?
Italy, Japan, Bali, Java, France, Various places in Africa, New Zealand, Alaska, Russia, and most of all... Nepal.
About Me:
I am 23 years old, and I have been working in coffee for 6 years. Aside from coffee I also have a passion for ethnobotanical teas and very unique herbs from around the world. I spend a lot of my free time rock climbing and working.
About My Company:
I work both for myself and at a local coffee house, training baristas, consulting and distributing coffee beans, green and roasted, to various coffee shops in the southeast. I do a bit of serving at various events as well, usually for non-profit organizations and fund-raisers. I serve the beans that I represent in sales at these events as well. My results have been infectious as both a barista and as an industry professional.
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
I enjoy watching coffee houses come to life and their owners giggle with excitement when their dreams are met.

I have seen recently how people are dealing with their vendors at other stores and came to the conclusion that we seriously need to revamp our vendor relationships to a trusting and profiting relationship. The general idea of the relationship between a store and their vendor is based on a mutual profitability. If the store profits, the vendor… Continue

Climbing and Coffee

So I have noticed a theme where I am residing. The rock climbing gyms in my area are starting to steer towards selling coffee beans or something along those lines. The gym that I am a very loyal patron to has started selling beans from a company called Coffee AM and the new gym being built in Atlanta (right down the road) will have an entire floor devoted to a coffee shop, yoga center and weight lifting gym. I worked at a small coffee house in my immediate area whose target market was cyclists.… Continue

Hard Work for Hard Times

Posted on December 10, 2009 at 5:15pm 0 Comments

So I am currently working at a shop I started out at in January of 2009. I left in March of 2009 to go work with another shop, Cafe:ine, which I value very much. Upon returning to Cafe:ine, I began to see a lot of the flaws with the company and began to pick up on the issues we were having and how they were being dealt with. Our location was very difficult to get to, our target market was extremely small (cyclists), we changed ideas for the store quite frequently, disallowing our current ideas… Continue
