BBQ Drum Roaster

Posted on June 4, 2008 at 10:27am 6 Comments

I got a BBQ Drum Roaster installed this weekend and I have to say it will take a little getting used to to get the roastes to come out right. I also tasted some Kenya AA for a company, they had an Iced coffee recipe that came out great. Now I know what my next endeavor will be, a cold brew coffee maker. Toddy makes one that sounds easy.

Kenya AA

I roasted some Kenya AA this week-end. It really roasted nice. I will be trying it real soon. I also roasted a small amount darker for an espresso.

This morning I drank some espresso made from the el tigre that I roasted darker than the rest. This is a great tasting coffee.

Home Roasting

I love home coffee roasting. I have 2 Fresh Roast Plus 8 machines that I use on the week-end. I sell green coffee beans to other home roasters but I use a lot for my own consumption. Last week I roasted Costa Rican 'el tigre'. It was a nice smooth coffee and tasted delicious. This week-end I tried Tanzania Ruvuma but I haven't tried it yet.

Jim;

After the long drive to Durham - tell me about the cupping experience at Counter Culture Coffee. Please, I'm trying my best to get a couple of local roasters to do something similar.

Welcome to the "My home roaster is hot and ready!" group. I'm roasting a Guatemalan HueHue at the moment. Full city, my favorite!
