Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.

Vienna Coffee House is the name of the shop that I manage. We roast our own coffee downstairs in our very own roastery. The roastery has been around for over ten years and has a long list of loyal customers. Four years ago this month the owner opened up the doors of the coffee house and we have been growing ever since. I have been the manager for a little over a year and I am amazed and excited of how much there is to learn about the coffee industry and how much I do not yet know. The coffee house moved into a bigger location last year. We sell homemade pastries, salads and soups so we have a four person kitchen staff, and we are going to begin making crepes soon. We have live music on weekends and sometimes through the week.

What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?

Guatemala, Hondurus, Kenya, Brazil, Costa Rica, Ethiopia, Hawaii, the list goes on.

About Me:

I have been barista since the doors of Vienna Coffee House opened in 2010 and have been the manager since July of last year. I have only really focused on the coffee industry since I became manager and have concentrated on honing my craft. I work hard at keeping the customers, staff and the owner happy. I feel like I currently have a great staff help me run the daily operation. I have discovered that there is other things I want to do besides being the cafe manager. I want so badly to travel to origin, to meet everyone involved in the process from the farmers to the exporters. I want to build relationships with those who work so hard to make coffee wonderful. This is the dream of so many others.

About My Company:

Vienna Coffee HOuse is larger than other coffee houses I have visited and I have a 15 person staff. We offer organic and Rainforest Alliance coffees but no direct trade. Hopefully by next year we will be able to get involved in direct trade

What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?

the customers I get to meet and talk to on a daily basis, learning the stories of the farmers and doing cuppings to taste their coffees, showing my staff how much I appreciate them
