hey , my name is Sophie and i am trying to start a coffee bussiness in the south. Would it be ok to ask you some questions
1 what do you like or dislike about starbucks or regular coffee spot?
2 What is your perfect idea of a coffee shop
3 what would it take for you to go to a new shop? hours, pricing, menu, enterainment
Thanks
Lived here for 10 years. We were one of the first Specialty Coffee roasters that started up early 2000's in Jakarta. Doing most of my work off shore now, probably will end up spending at the most 3 months in total in Indonesia this year. It is good to see indonesian coffee moving forward and away from traditional robusta based kopi Tobruk
Thanks Putu. Hey if you end up coming let me know. Is it a holiday or a more permanent move back? Thankfully the full wave of the crisis has not reached these shores yet. I am kind of hopeful it might be like an economic Tsunami, the waves becoming smaller and smaller away from the epicentre. I guess thats a pretty futile hope, considering what happened here in 97/98 but I am really hoping for the best... anyway drop me a line if you are going to be up Jakarta way.
Hello Putu, welcome to BX! I am assuming from your name that you are originally from Indonesia...maybe even Bali? Anyway, welcome! Where in the US are you based?
