Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.

I started my life in coffee at a Barnes and Noble Cafe when I was a teenager, but I got into specialty coffee at Batdorf and Bronson Coffee Roasters in Olympia, Washington where I worked for three and half years. I started as a barista and worked my way up to manager of the flagship store. I worked in that position for a little over a year until I moved back to Portland in January 2009. Batdorf will always be in my heart, I am very proud having worked for them and I look forward to the day they make their presence in Portland known! I currently manage Pix Patisserie on North Williams, which I love!

What cities or countries are you interested in traveling to?

I love traveling! I want to visit every corner of the world. I've visited 12 states and I've also been to Canada, Mexico and Scotland. I'm saving for a trip to Europe with my husband. Any travel opportunities are welcome!

About Me:

Besides coffee, I love wine, beer and good food. To balance that out, I also like getting my sweat on at the gym. I love spending time with the men in my life, my husband Will and my cat Eli. I sew and craft, selling my goods at craft fairs and local shops. I love music, reading, watching movies and spending time with friends and family. I have a Bachelors of Arts in Feminist Theory, Sociology and English from Evergreen State College and an Associates of Applied Science in Radio Broadcasting from Mt. Hood Community College.

What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?

Making rad espresso and geeking out on details... Creating delicious drinks for all my customers, no matter their palette...Training my staff and infecting them with enthusiam.
