I'm looking for a job.

I have a lot of experience in customer service. I like helping people.
I started out at Espresso Roma in California, I learned a lot there and I've loved working in cafes ever since.
I've worked in chain coffee shops, artsy indie cafes, pastry shops, bakeries, sandwich shops. I've served gourmet food at weddings, banquets, corporate events.
I really enjoy rushes, I love being busy and making beautiful tasty drinks.
I'm not a coffee snob, but I take it seriously. I want every drink to be the best.
I'm great at working with customers who don't know very much about coffee, I can work with them without being a jerk and find out what they like, get them excited to try new things.
There's always more to learn!

Hello Sarah. I would say Portland and Eugene cafe owners/staff are really well represented on BX. I am sure the contacts you can make through this site with those people should help you find employment in Portland. I guess its one of the greatthings about this site, the networking value and the friendships you can make. Good luck with the search.

Hi Sarah and Welcome. I'm happy you chose Portland, it sounds like you will be able to carve out your niche quickly, we have a truly amazing local coffee scene here as I can se you are already aware of if you've been to Andrea's place...unfortunately, I no longer have my shop so I can't extend an invitation but am wondering if you have ever done any cupping? if you are interested, let me know and I'll tell you when I'm having one.-Mostly C.O.E. Brazils, a few others as well
Also, check out Caffe' D'arte at SE 15th & Weidler (by Lloyd Center), Drop off your resume' ask for Diana and tell her I said to come by and at least introduce yourself, express your passion and it will carry you well there-it's all about perfection.
Cheers, Steve
