The blitz is on! Turkey food coma day has yet to come, but retailers are advertising and promoting heavily to attract customers through their doors. Here is one suggestion to increase your customer count and hopefully your holiday sales.
Add Extra value for gift card purchases
Why not offer a free coffee with the purchase (or reload) of $25 or more? You can also offer extra value (purchase any gift card in the amount of $50 or more, and we will match 10%, 20% etc). Set…

Hey all, I will be in Seattle from the afternoon of December 7th until the morning of the 10th. I have a few things to do during the mornings but outside of that, I would love to connect and drink shots and eat food with awesome Seattle coffee peeps. I am not familiar with Seattle but I would love it if someone could show me the spots if they have time. Let's Possify!

Hey guys, I just uploaded a lot of my pictures from Coffee Fest Hong Kong, I am also writing a field report for Barista Magazine in the next issue. It was a blast! So fun to meet so many new baristas from all over SE Asia, and to see some good friends too.

even though the temp is low around 3°C this morning in Moncton (going up to 5°C) we have the sun. This is really wonderful because we have been having a lot of rain of late.
Does anyone know if Obama drinks coffee?

Ok, maybe not only press drinkers can respond- but those of you out there that want to share some insight here. I am now ready to replace my house with a new french press (in moving always take the time to secure & wrap your delicacies) and don't know what to get. So here's my question- Is a double wall glass french press worth the extra $? Sure it'll keep the coffee hotter longer than a reg. beaker, but i don't typically keep my coffee lying around for two hours. So, worth it?

I am finally getting around to posting how the Charlotte SCAA Skill Building Workshop and Barista Bash/Latte Art Throwdown went. I can't believe it's been a week already. The Skill Building Workshop part of the weekend went really well. We had attendees from as far away as Maine, and they were a great group to work with. The weekend started with a great duo of cupping classes from Andrew Miller with Cafe Imports. He is absolutely one of the most knowledgeable people in coffee, hands-down, and…

My wife gave me a wonderful gift today – a new computer chair. It’s black leather with chrome. She put it together with the help of my daughter Liz. Boy does it feel good. My coffee tomorrow morning should taste a little better when I sit in this seat.

I was out to breakfast by myself this morning and I was served one of the worst mugs of coffee I've had in a long time - the only good thing about it she never came back to offer me more.

I got a call on Monday, would I do a catering for Tuesday? I almost said no, well at first I did say no. It was for 60 and I thought they were talking lunch. No they just needed a morning snack with coffee, tea and hot cider. Ok. Delivered to the airport at 10AM, Ok. Who is this for, I ask?
We need to have something for the press and staff when they get in town with Obama.
I did not drop the phone.
I said yes of course I can do this.
I baked all day…

So I have been planning this trip to Hawai'i (the big Island -not Ouahu) for quite a while now. I arrived yesterday. Election day. Congratulations Obama. :) Well it just so happens that the Kona Coffee Cultural Festival starts on the 7th. I have a brochure here next to me. I've kinda flipped through the pages to get a feel for what is going on, but its somewhat confusing. Two main social events stand out for sure. Both on Saturdays. There is a Miss Kona Coffee Scholarship Pageant on the 8th.…

We opened this morning and pulled our regular espresso blend to offer the "Obama" Bland and the "McCain" Blend. To date (2 hours into vote counting) we have Obama ahead 72% to McCains 28%. This is based on Espresso Based Drinks sold as well as 250gm coffee packs. It has been a CRAZY morning with a good % of South Jakarta's expat community coming through the cafe and crowding around CNN. Exciting stuff.!
