I drink coffee, no actually I sip it, I roast it, I smell it to see what it wants to say. It oily. it's hot, really hot when it comes out. I think about the people all over the world who pick the cherries all day meticulously and there life depends on it. We forget about them sometimes.

I like it! You know, I have taken expat groups up to see coffee growing around we are. Many have never seen trees or cherries. Many more have thought the beans they grind everyday actually grow under the ground, like peanuts! Spending a day in a growing community can be a humbling experience, even for those of us who spend a lot of time at origin. The work ethic of the villagers, their commaderie and organisational skills, long hours- all to produce a great coffee that is in most cases drunk thousands of miles away. To steal a line from history- "we should never forget"

Too right. The global coffee industry is so huge and so complicated that most coffee drinkers have no idea of the hard work, skills and expertise that go into producing it.
