Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.

Just started late 2010 as we were preparing to open the coffee shop. Immediately feel in love with the detail involved in pulling shots, as well as the coffee culture itself. Looking to bring skills to a new level, attend barista competitions, and open to any advice or tips anyone has for someone just starting out

Bogota, Colombia.. Portland, USA.. Vancouver, Canada.

About Me:

28 years old. Have always had an interest in machinery and gadgets. Worked for Apple Computer for 5 years. Graduated with Bachelors degree in Music Business/Production, learned on an SSL SL4000 using Pro Tools 6+ and interned for a indie branch label for Sony BMG in 2006.. My introduction to the world of coffee was an unexpected blessing. I'm in love.

About My Company:

Opened a coffee shop in January of 2011. Harold's.
Chris Palacio/Manager is novice barista
at my last shop we used intellegentsia as our main roaster
at my last shop we used a cold drip system for our iced coffees
looking for skilled baristas to take shop to next level.
currently own a shop since Jan 2013. Coastars
our main roaster is Counter Culture
our featured roaster is MADCAP
we use a Linea 4 group

What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?

besides the coffee.. the need for creativity and involvement in the arts and community. The spirit of the independent coffee house is the stuff revolutions are made out of.
