About Me:
In my former career, I was an executive vice president at a soft drink company in the SE. After 15 years, I decided to move back to New York and try being a entrepreneur. I got into the coffee business and haven't looked back. I love working with customers and developing new coffee drinks and I’m having great fun at it.
About My Company:
Our shop practices fair-trade. We bake all our own pies and pastries fresh daily. We also have a bean bar, so customers can buy a bag of their favorite to take home. WiFi is available during certain hours and local musicians and authors perform on weekends
What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?
It's split between meeting unique individuals and experimenting with coffee drinks.

No problem. Oyster Bay is such a sweet town, and apparently growing like mad. New Teddy Roosevelt museum, plans for the marina to grow. And my daughter is looking for a photo studio/gallery location near downtown. Know of anywhere?

Hi Julianne...no the OTHER soft drink company- HQ'ed in Purchase. I worked for them through the late 1980's to mid 1990's. Had a brief spell in the US- 1989/1990

Hi Julianne, thanks for the contact request. I wonder if the soft drink company you worked for in a previous life was the same one I worked for, also in a previous life!

Yikes! Those are big numbers even for such a mysterious coffee shop as yours, How many seats in your shop?

Hey Oyster Bay! Were you guys as busy as we were over the weekend? I heard you had lots of cyclists in town. We did too, and set a record for one-day sales on Monday! Hoo-hoo!

I did! Somehow it got lost in the ether. I congratulated you on your successful Saturday! It's always great to get it all right and just crank for a whole day. We did good Sat too - baked about 12 dozen muffins and a double bake of the rest (turnovers, croissants, bagels etc.) Sunday started well but the rain killed it. So much of our weekend biz is cyclists and tourists in our little village. I was in OB Saturday for a regatta at Seawanhaka Yacht Club. Is your shop in Oyster Bay the Baykery? We've been there.

Here's my shop! If they can lose text how do you suppose they'll handle a jpeg?

I work for Dillanos Coffee roasters, where we roast coffee, and supply to customers. I have seen many coffee shops offer ice cream with great success. With you being near the beach, I think that it would do great. Also look at your competition. Is there anyone else near you offering the same thing. Also, as Diane said below, you would have customers that would buy an ice cream for there children as they come in for there afternoon drinks. If you have the room and space, and you are looking into it, definetly look into either ice ceam or maybe a gelato.

I would love to offer ice cream. We do not have an ice cream shop in our little town. Unfortunately we are very limited on space and do not have the room. If you have the room, i feel that ice cream is a great compliment to coffee. What could be better than a scoop of vanilla with a shot poured over it?? And it would give the kids a treat so mom wouldn't feel so guilty about spending her $$ on a great cup. We offer a .75 cent kids 8oz cocoa. Parents like to be able to get their child something special and it gives them a reason to stop. I don't make a lot of money on the cocoa, but very rarely do they go out with out a mom and pop big coffee.
Soooo.. :-) Yes, Ice Cream would be a great addition in summer and perhaps all year round, if you have the room.
