Tell us more about your coffee shop or barista skills.

I'm an extremely hard working and loyal seasoned barista looking for a solid independently owned coffee shop to call home! I'm punctual, independent yet I love team work, self-motivated, outgoing and a cleaner rather than leaner! I've worked in the industry on and off for the past 10 years and find my heart keeps me longing to be behind the coffee bar. I've worked from the bottom up to management and take direction as well as I can give it.

Previous Job Responsibilities: Making hot, iced and blended coffees, smoothies and tea infusions. Prep/cooking of lite fare, POS operations, and overall duties such as dishes, deep cleaning, stocking, stock rotation, bussing, answering phones, bar backup, and other go-to barista/cafe duties.
General management, including training of employees, quality control, taking inventory, placing orders with distributors, espresso, grinder, blender and ice machine maintenance, interviewing, hiring, reconciling tills, scheduling, 24/7 on-call help, creation of store specific signature drink specials, as well as having filled in as a general consultant to new owners in turnkey operations.

Many countries, but would like to stay in Portland right now.

About Me:

I am a drummer in a progressive, electronic math rock band called The Mercury Tree and when I'm not working, I spend just about all my free time working on rudiments and composing new music in our band. We are currently recording and play shows locally from time to time.

When I'm not playing music, I'm drawing, painting, walking, reading, watching movies, smelling flowers or eating good whole foods which I make into amazing meals I share with my friends and loved ones :)

What is your favorite thing about the coffee industry?

The coffee industry helps to engender a closenit sense of community worldwide. The simple action of people joining together to enjoy a cup of coffee stimulates conversation and inspires people to become active in their own community.
