hi BT,

as Blazej said a lot of practice needed.
If you are lucky and have the possibility to learn from someone who is good or pro in coffee making, it helps a lot and you can learn faster. I don't know, but i think working with this kind of personal trainer within few month. if you train yourself, depending on your abilityes half year-1year maybe 2.
and watching latte art videos on you tube! Your national two times latte art champion Perikles is one of the best, i like his style :)

IMHO it's about 400 kg of coffee, 1200 liters of milk nad hundreds hours of practice in a coffee bar or at home :)
