Has anyone had to get a countdown timer for their brewed coffee?  We just received new FETCO urns from our roaster and they don't have the clever little feature our old urns had. The old urns had digital timers built into the stem, which reset automatically whenever we brewed. Of course these were electronic and burnt out after a while or if they got wet.

Anyway, now I need some sort of hanging timer that can take some abuse and splashes.  Any suggestions?

Check these out.  We use a ton of these:

I'm assuming you recommend the top one, the $15 guy? I don't know about other shops, but I feel like we burn through digital timers at an alarming rate. The magnets go, the screens fart out, the battery casing snaps off (and is inevitably swept away) - tell me these are the dream timers, the ones I've been looking for. Please?

we have the same problem, I just replaced my timers with waterproof stopwatches we bought at the local sporting goods store. It gets ridiculous replacing timers every couple months. I'm hoping these work.

OMG that must be the best idea I have heard in a while.

You guys are replacing your timers every couple of months?  How are you handling them?

Our five timers have been operational for a year now under constant use.  None of them have broken, one needs new batteries but not have required replacement.

Either those ThermoWorks timers are SuperTimers or you beat the hell out of your timers.

Thanks for the suggestions.  I like the timer Jay.  It looks exactly like what I need.
