What is everyone's thought on having only 16 oz cold and 12 and 16 oz hot?  Do people really have an issue with no 20 oz option?

I say go with it.

You may want to offer 12 and 16 in both hot and cold, just for consistency. And if you offer another size, I would consider an 8 oz. We sell 3 times as many 8 oz. as 16 oz.

The 20 ounce, and frankly the 16 ounce ppl, have no real interest in coffee. They just want caffeine and/or some milky beverage with a hint of coffee. By only offering those 2 hot sizes, you will build a higher caliber, more appreciative customer base.

Do you feel that offering an 8 oz pulls people away from otherwise buying a 12oz, therefore resulting in lower profit, without driving them away?

If you charge for your 8 what others charge for their 12 it won't be a problem.

For our Americano, we charge the same price for 8 and 12, and these are our biggest selling drink(s). We charge 50 cents more for the 12 on the latte than the 8. I thought it might take away from some profit, but all it did was add another layer of coffee lovers who come more often.

All of it depends how you position yourself in your market, and what you do to maintain that positioning.

Go for it! It's the quality of the coffee that matters ;)
