So I recently purchased a Porlex grinder for home use. As did a customer of mine. However, we are having a difficult time agreeing on the grind setting. We're both Chemex users so this is the method we're using. Did some research and found on another discussion board where someone recommended using it at seven clicks from tight. At this setting it took too long of an extraction. We tried setting it all the way to 10 clicks and it still took over five minutes to extract. My thoughts are that may be the Porlex is better used for a fine grind, like the Aeropress, than it is for a more course of a grind required for a Chemex. Is this true?

I am user of Porlex grind and Chemex (3 cups).

Now I am using Porlex at 6 clicks from tight.

When I use medium roast beans, 6 clicks, 8 clicks, 10 clicks, same results.

It take too long of extract.

When I use Italian roast beans, it take short of extract.

I like medium roast beans, speciality coffee beans.

I am always waiting extract.

It's happy time for me, good smell, imagine fruit,,,and so on.

But when I am busy, I am frustrated with long extract time.
I have never used Aeropress. No idea. I am sorry.
