I’m sure there have been many discussions about this but can anyone recommend a good home roaster for a beginner? Thanks!

Do you mean other than a nice popcorn popper?  That's how I started and now I've had a coffee roasting, full espresso bar business for over ten years.

I have SR540, which is great for fast, hot roasting which highlights acidity and the floral, fruity, and sweet notes Check out here https://www.perfectbrew.com/reviews/best-coffee-roaster-machines/ It's fully electric and uses induction heating. Can roast up to 4 ounces in 10-12 minutes I guess.

I roasted over 400 batches of beans in my first SR540. The only drawback is the small batch size (4 oz) and the roasts don't last long (7-10 days) which usually isn't a problem due to the small batch size.
