Hey everyone, wanted to get peoples opinion on a super-auto for an office setting. I have a friend who is looking to buy a machine for their office. Ease of use is a big factor in this one, and a traditional set up is not quite what his boss is looking for. I have a few options picked out already but appreciate others feedback.

Here are the details he sent:

Price range, I'd say under 3 grand. But we need solid performance WAY
more than features, so less if possible. A low end model of a high end
brand is a likely choice.

General requirements:

• good espresso (no real need for drip coffee or "strength controls"
since we've got a hot tap)

• steam/froth/foam is nice but no need for tons of options.

• built-in hopper & grinder

• Solid construction--this thing will get used quite a bit (I'll be
cleaning/maintaining it, so that's no big deal; I actually like to do
that shit)

• Good looks would be really nice. Clean, sharp lines without
unnecessary bulgy plastic curves and decoration and crap. What can I
say, we're designers. (this is relatively low priority, of course.)

jura, swiss made machine, has all, hooper, can use beans, pods, all...automatic steaming, fridge for milk, all in all, great performance. roger federrer is a guy whos on their advertising. im for this one, please, do some tests with, i think its worth.
Matt, it is just a coincidence really- I just did a tasting at a womens home here in ballard where we ran coffees through her Saeco office system machine. She is looking for locations to place these machines and this may be a good option for the gentlemen to get a machine that will have an operator/ maintenance program that he will not have to endure. Also I would never recommend something that I could not get my hands into, pull apart and completely clean. Also I enjoyed a really good Americano from it.
The womens name is Katie Beck, and her email is k_m_beck@yahoo.com. If anything she will be able to educate you on the way to go possibly or be able to provide the service? I dunno, but she's savvy about this style of equipment.

Yours,

Sarah
The Jura machines would fit that bill. I don't have much experience with the Saeco machines, but the Idea Cappuccino works pretty well, although is more than $3k.

Thanks for the helpful, friendly recommendations, all! (I'm the mooching friend). Matt's also suggesting the Nuova Microbar. Anyone have any experience with this one?
Cool things about the Microbar are:

2 grinders,

Metal group

Great extraction (for a super auto)

PID temp control

Hi I Carry That One Through My Network, have no personally Experience with it, but I figured it was out of the price range as, the new ones which are 2 model one with pour water in and direct plumbed line..Good Reviews but both are in the 6k range if you are speaking of Nuova Simonelli Microbar ? I think they are even slightly cheaper than on the distro website. I'd have to check...
I have just bought a Jura ENA5 to try. Only out of the box so still have to test it. Single grinder with cappuccinatore. Extremely small footprint for offices. DM

Any final word on this? Our office is now also considering super-autos.
