I recently interviewed this girl whom needed a job very quickly, however I couldnt hire her until November when I open. She had already told me that she was do to start with Starbucks and wished that we were opening sooner so wrote me thanking and wishing me the very best......read on, she puts so eloquently-she's 18.
"On one last note, I love how you want to educate and empower all your baristas, bringing them to a whole new level. I find it so sad that after being in training with Starbucks, they have not taken anytime to develop or nurture my skills as a barista. I came into Starbucks, fully knowing they wouldn't teach me everything, but hoping that they would enhance my knowledge and skill as a barista. Not once have they taught me about foaming milk, pulling shots, or what great espresso encompasses, etc. There is no beauty in what we do at Starbucks, we only push the buttons and pour the milk. That being said, with your energy and love for coffee you are going to have the best, most knowledgeable baristas in Arizona, hands down!"
I wish her the very best, we could all be so blessed to find someone with the true desire to want to learn. This just goes to show the passion comes in early stages....especially for coffee!
