The point of this discussion is to find out if any of you play Cafe Games? For Example: Choose a drink, Decaf, soy, latte, extra hot and the first person to take an order for one gets a bonus.
Here is the latest game we are currently playing: (Needs a bit of context)
When I'm training my staff I always tell them they are fired if they stuff up during the training (tis a joke). Anyway, on our Expobar G10 you have a digital screen which scrolls from boiler temp, time to a programmable title (most people would just have the name of the machine). I have changed the title to "Tom you're fired". I have a deal with my other employee Jess, for every session Tom doesn't recognise the sentence she gets a dollar.

If you don't run a cafe see if you can come up with some fun ones for us to try.. imagination people.. Let the games begin.....

At our store, we played Barista Bingo. I took a Bingo board and filled all the spots with different promoted drinks, certain whole beans, promoted pastries, and merchandise and we played over the course of a month and whoever had the most bingos won a $25 gift card. It was a big hit!

We are currently playing WOW poker. On our mystery shops, we have to WOW the shopper in order to get 25 pts (which actually is a big percent of the mystery shop.) The WOW could include getting refills for seated guests, bringing samples out the the tables, remembering a guests name... The list goes on (we're actually trying to come up with more ways to WOW.) Anyways, the manager on duty holds a deck of cards, and if they see a Barista WOW a guest, the Barista then gets a card. The point is to get 5 cards to make a Poker hand. You can trade in cards and draw new ones as long as they justify the "WOW" factor. It needs some tweaking, but it has helped with the mystery shops.

I'm assuming this is what you mean by Cafe Games. If anyone has any other ideas, I'd love to hear them as well. I've thought of a Scavenger Hunt as well. But plan on thinking that one out a little further.

The Menu bingo is a good thing that Sarah's on to.
Tim, if they get points for things like soy/hotter/decaf, they are at the mercy of what the customer already drinks.... If you make it like bingo or specific like when they order a double ristretto macchiato or a hazelnut latte; then this promotes the staff to upsell and promote things that aren't usually bought or heard of by the general public....

Sarah, I'm likeing the 'secret shopper' thing. I might pay someone to come and get a coffee and food and get them to reate my staff...
