Does anyone else strongly dislike the red line that appears under the word Barista. I almost find it ironic that being part of a coffee community like Barista- Exchange, that my spell check always highlights the word Barista... I could not even count how many times I have seen that red line. I believe that I may just have the two correlated in my head now... I am just wondering if anyone has noticed? Should we start a lobby or petition to get the word Barista added to these auto-spell checkers?

Spell check is generally on the user side. You should be able to left click the red underlined word and choose "add to dictionary" and it will not show red anymore for you. I think it also depends on your operating system though so you may not have that option.
I just added it to my MAC dictionary... along with tatted, tatter (lace making terms) and several other life specific words I use a lot.
Haha, I was really just jokin around, but still maybe it should be added to the main dictionary database somewhere???

I was just hoping to relieve some frustration for ya :) I do find it odd that some pretty common words did not make the dictionary though. I think some of it may have to do with when it was written and updated. Words are like clothing trends, they come into style and then fade at varying speeds. There are some good blogs and articles written on it if you care to Google them.
I put an advert in the local pape recently for Barista. They (obviously) did a spell check and changed the advert to "Barister". Needless to say I was a bit confused when we had a flood of lawyers applying for the postion... no kidding!
