Scones. A few years ago there was a little coffee dive near the water in downtown Seattle that made the most amazing orange currant scones. I'd have to travel there from san diego and would go way out of my way to visit them, get an ok coffee and get a fresh, perfect scone. mm mm mm. Crazy Mochas in Pittsburgh has some amazing biscotti but my favorite was the lemon rasberry almond. Lemon almond with a layer of rasberry frosting.... I don't even like razberrys but I love those biscottis!

Scones are also amazing! Just depends on the mood and the shop.

I gotta say Scones. I capitalize the word out of love. I've been joking about doing a scone review, maybe magazine article, so I can legitimately eat them as a tax write-off. Currently my favorite is the white chocolate cherry ones at Cafe Ladro.

Pumpkin Ginger Scones the way we make them at The Celtic Cup... with chopped up crystalized ginger and pepitas (pumpkin seeds).... YUM! Goes great with my Steaming Bean coffees either Organic Peruvian or Black Canyon.

My favorite is scones. Love, love, love 'em. I make them at home from the Fischer scone mix we get at Costco, but the ones at some bakeries and cafes are better, usually. The ones I've had at drive-throughs are usually dull and old. Ok, I could go on an on about scones. I have been tempted to write a magazine article, rating the scones I find around the Northwest, as opposed to a book as I did about drive-throughs.

almond scones. also, havn't seen them a whole lot of places but palmiers are perfect with a cup if they're not over-sweetened

Like everyone else in the crowd here, I'd have to say scones, also! Except I prefer savory scones with tasty stuff like CHEESE and GARLIC and herbs and spices. MMMMM...these don't exactly pair well with coffee, but what the hey.

When I decide to have a bite with coffee, my favorite flavor combo is a nice, strong unsweetened cup with an intensely sweet something, like a slice of really good chocolate cake or pie. Wheww!!

And I have to speak up for the lowly, common muffin. The blueberry muffin is an absolute classic. It's dessert-like, but filling at the same time; very satisfying for a quick breakfast. I'm getting hungry now.

Guess...

Scones! I too tend to prefer the savory ones. We have a cheddar/gruyere/feta/spinach scone that is mind blowing. There are times when I really dig on our sweet ones, though. Rum raisin/mango/dark chocolate scones? Yes please!

Man I'm hungry...
