Hey Tommy. I should say sama2. We are ALWAYS looking for experienced barista up to international (kiwi/australian) standards. Its really pretty much impossible to find. I would suggest the best option is to hire someone with a passion for coffee first and foremost, a customer service background second and then do the training to your standards from scratch.

Mate, its the best we can do. Actually, to tell you a not to well kept secret, we are pretty much cutting back on supply to the local market as from last month- only really targeting top end (quality focused) users. Not because I dont want to supply everyone, but rather our own business- as well as the export markets we supply are really chewing through much, much more coffee than we projected a year ago. Because our small holders only produce so much, it is a tough choice for us to make. Its for sure a good thing in many ways as well, but it does mean it is going to be a wee bit harder for the market here.

Was thinking about potential skilled barista for you- Louise who is a member on BX might be worth approaching. She has a lot of Starbux experience and may be looking at expanding her horizons into Independent coffee. She seems very keen and her resume is solid. Would not hurt to message her through BX.
