Sanitizer or chemicals to wipe steam wands between drinks?

How many people submerse their steam wand towel in a cleaning or sanitizing agent?  We recently brought something like that into the shop, but I dont' know how I feel about putting a cleaning agent on a wand, then steaming with it.  Thoughts?

We don't.

Not to try to stifle another conversation on this, but there was a pretty extensive one on this topic a while ago... check it out here.

Looking forward to additional thoughts on this.
Interesting stuff. I'm more concerned about people ingesting chemicals. : (
knowing the steamwand's propensity to suck up liquid as it cools during lack of use, I would be concerned about purging all the chemicals before steaming the next drink.
I as well. This stuff is marketed as cleaner for steam wands and milk frothers. Do you use something like that throughout the shift?

Oh... read the first post a little too fast. I think they are totally unnecessary. I think its intended for super-autos, no?

Just wipe it down with a clean damp cloth after use, purge before and after use, and soak the tip in a pitcher of near-boiling hot water for a couple of minutes at the end of each day and it'll stay nice and clean. They also make little brushes for periodically scrubbing out the crud.
