and i got to thinking...doesn't that look a whole like one of those water pitchers/vases they have are restaurants?  I was wondering, because I was have one of those pitchers at my house.  I have heard that the secret of the chemex is its filter, and i was wondering if the cone shape has to be exact in order for chemex brewing to work?  I would save like 30 bucks if i skipped on the glorified vase and just bought the filters.  

Any thoughts?
