Just trying to get ideas on how much this brain fart of an idea will cost:

What's it gonna cost to install a drive-thru.
I'm talking dollar amount. Please don't get on a rant about what its going to do to our business. I'm well aware of the opinion that drive-thrus deteriorate the atmosphere inside the store.

If you don't have a drive-thru or you don't know how much one cost, please leave your comment on all of the other more appropriate discussion here.

What brands/suppliers of equipment do you have?

Thanks.

Sorry Jeremiah, I don't know how much they cost but I'm posting anyway.

How much work you talking about here? Just the window in place of other windows? Blowing a hole in the wall too? Asphalt work? Those posts to break your mirrors off? Adjustments to cabinets? Countertops?

Kinda thinking that a little more info on what the extent of the work is may help you get some better replies...
Thanks for the clarification.
It's a shell of a place that already has the lane.
I'm more interested in the window pane and intercom system plus installation/labor fee.

I just did one in a brick wall. We did a manual open with auto close and a heated windscreen system, the parts cost just under $4000, I think we were are around $1500 to install. A good intercom will cost you $5500 installed.
Who did you go through for the installation? Did your General Contractor take care of it?

Thanks so much for this!!

Jeremiah, I think you need to consider additional POS costs as well, as likely you will need 2 order taking terminals.
We have a drive-thru with no intercom (just order at the window with the menu just before you pull up) which is nice in a few ways.. first is you don't have to pay for one, second you get a little better interaction with the customer. just a few things to think about
