I'm working with the National Coffee Association of USA to promote the upcoming National Coffee Break on Thursday, January 20, 2011.  The NCA is asking coffee industry members to participate through customer promotions and activities and consumers to take a break from their day and bond with colleagues, friends and family over a cup of coffee.

It is an opportunity for all members of the coffee industry to celebrate coffee and its role in American society.  Many large coffee companies have said they would participate and we're trying to spread the word through various forums to reach as many people as possible. My agency has been reaching out to trade and consumer media and received great support for the idea.

We will be launching a website to support the event (www.nationalcoffeebreak.org) soon and will have Coffee Break branded point of purchase materials available on the site for anyone to download, customize and print out and use to promote their activities.  We will also be posting various ideas to help companies and shops think of ways they can participate.  It can be as simple as reminding your customers when National coffee Break will be and how they can participate to throwing a coffee break for charity in your store during slow business hours.

Please feel free to send me any questions or comments.  You can also follow us on Twitter at NtnlCoffeeBreak or like us on Facebook at NationalCoffeeBreak.

Thanks.
