My mom has a 12 cup Mr. Coffee that she just got at WalMart and loves. It's a sturdy little machine, easy to clean up, and even has a programming function on it *shudder*.
I think it was like $25. I don't know how particular he is on taste, but my mom loves hers, so it's not bad for the price.

I'm definitely no expert on auto drips, because I rarely use them, but this one really didn't do a bad job.

Moccamasters are amazing and will last a lifetime but it's going to be little bit more than 60. But hey christmas is only once a year and it's your one and only boyfriend, so cash out :)

I'm a coffee lover, but I won't pour a V60 every morning either. But I WILL boil water and pour it into a French Press every morning.

I would probably suggest a Cappresso Coffeeteam for someone like that. It brews at close to the right temperature and grinds right before brewing. It isn't perfect, but it all happens at the push of a button.

For the lazy connoisseur, it doesn't get much better than that. It also costs more than $60.

I think that you're asking the wrong forum if you're shopping for an autodrip for <$60.

If the coffee maker basically works but is just dirty how about running Urnex Cleancaf (coffee machine cleaner with mild descaler) through the existing coffee maker (multiple times likely needed ) and cleaning up the outside. Cleancaf works much better than usually suggested just vinegar. Then see how the coffee tastes...(obviously AFTER running couple tanks water to rinse:)

Spend the rest on a year supply (like 12 packets) Cleancaf, bag good coffee, whatever.
