About Green Cafe Professionals: This is a 'closed' forum for cafe operators and enthusiasts committed to sustainability in cafes, where members can share info, post questions, make recommendations and connect with other coffee / cafe professionals. The Importance of Greening Cafes
The U.S. has over 20,000 coffee shops, and in each of these retail spaces there is an incredible opportunity to help reduce the specialty coffee industry’s collective environmental impacts. Considering Americans were estimated to use 23 billion paper cups last year and restaurants are the #1 consumer of electricity in the retail sector, cafes are directly responsible for huge amounts of waste, energy use and water consumption in our communities every day. By working together and sharing resources, the coffeehouse community can minimize these impacts and green their industry - from the bottom up.

We give 5 cents off each beverage when anyone brings their own travel mug or buys one of ours (BPA Free, D/W and Micro Safe). Our own hot and cold cups are compostable and we have a FOH and BOH composting program. FOH is mostly educational unless we have time to pick through and get things in the proper waste can (Garbage, Recycle, Compost). Urbia diverts 1/2 ton away from landfills to compost every month, and diverts more volume to recycling. We're now considering delaying garbage pick up to every other week :D

Registration is done for each webinar separately, so you'll have to register each time, and the dial in and code will be sent to you in the confirmation each time. The number should stay the same but the link for you to join the webinar may change. Just use the latest info you get in each confirmation email and you should be good to go!
